Foothills Athletic Running Club
Enjoy the camaraderie of running with friends all year round and participate in many of our social and running related activities. Our members vary from recreational runners to competitive road racers. The club provides road runs and track workouts on a weekly basis designed to help all of our runners reach their goals. Equally important, we arrange regular social events, including more casual weekend runs involving trail runs, canal runs & longer mileage runs. New runners are always welcome! If you are looking for a person or persons to join you for a run, you've come to the right place! Open to members & non-members of the Foothills Athletic Club (FAC).

Ronda Jameel: Ronda was instantly hooked on endurance and distance running after winning her very first 5-K race in 1993. She was a sprinter in high school track and qualified and placed in several County and State meets. Since then, she has finished two marathons, 3 triathlons, 2 duathlons and numerous other 5-K, 10-K, and half marathons. She placed 3rd in the 1996 Tucson marathon and her and her dog Mylo took second place in the 2004 Dog-n-Jog Furry Fun Run. She loves running and you can often spot her and Mylo running in the beautiful terrain of the Ahwatukee Foothills.

Besides being an accomplished runner, she is a Certified Running Coach, Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Specialist, Certified Yoga Instructor, and is CPR & First aid certified. In addition, Ronda is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in health promotion and wellness, and a graduate of the University of Phoenix with a Master of Business Administration in health care management. She has previously served as a coach for the Phoenix Fit marathon training program and is currently a track coach for beginner to intermediate adults. She is sought after as a guest speaker by marathon training teams sponsored by valley organizations such as the American Diabetes Association.

Ronda has a special interest in beginning runners, believing that with the right coaching anyone can discover the hidden runner within. She also sees a void in beginner specific coaching and exercises and has applied her years of experience in developing programs specifically for beginner to intermediate runners.
